Privacy Policy
Weight Diary - BMI & Log — Effective Date: August 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application published on Google Play as Weight Diary - BMI & Log (package name com.weight_tracker) and on the Apple App Store as My Weight, and displayed on the device as My Weight. The application is published under other localized names in some languages. The App is developed and published by Sergei Korneev ("we", "us", "the developer"), who is the data controller for the purposes of this Privacy Policy. In this document, "the App" refers to this application in all of its localized names.
Thank you for using the App. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle information. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected when you use the App, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
The App is designed to function without requiring you to create an account. Information you voluntarily enter may include:
- Body weight entries and related measurements, including the date and any optional notes you add to an entry
- Profile information such as a profile name, a chosen avatar, biological sex, and height, used solely to personalize the App and to calculate metrics such as BMI or progress indicators
This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. The App lets you create more than one profile, and you may export and import your data as a local backup file; any exported file is created on your device and is your responsibility to store and protect. If and when cloud sync functionality is introduced in a future version of the App, you will be notified and given the option to opt in.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
Like most mobile applications, the App may automatically collect certain technical and usage data through third-party tools, including:
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- App usage patterns, feature interactions, and session duration
- Crash reports, error logs, and performance diagnostics
- A randomly generated device or installation identifier (not linked to your identity)
This information is collected to help us understand how the App is used, diagnose technical issues, and improve functionality.
1.3 Purchase Validation
If you make a purchase or subscribe within the App, the App sends the purchase receipt or transaction information provided by the app store to our server solely to verify the validity of the purchase and to enable the corresponding features (such as Premium and ad removal). This process does not include your name, payment card, or other payment details, which are handled exclusively by the app store. We do not use this information for advertising or sell it to third parties.
1.4 Advertising Data
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers (including, on iOS, the Identifier for Advertisers), and similar technologies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests, based on your activity on the App and other apps and websites. The data collected for advertising purposes is governed by the privacy policy of the relevant advertising provider, which is available on that provider's official website.
1.5 Tracking and Consent
On iOS devices, the App uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. Before tracking you for personalized advertising, the App will ask for your permission, and you may allow or decline. You can change this choice at any time in your device settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you decline, you may still see advertising, but it will be less personalized.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region where consent is required, the App presents a consent request (via Google's consent management tools) before personalized advertising data is collected. You may grant or withhold consent and adjust your choices in accordance with the options provided.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain core App functionality
- To improve user experience and App performance
- To analyze usage trends (via Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics)
- To diagnose crashes and technical issues (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- To manage feature configuration and roll out improvements (via Firebase Remote Config)
- To verify in-app purchases and subscriptions
- To display relevant advertisements (via Google AdMob)
- To comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services, each of which collects and processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements; may collect and use data for ad personalization
- Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics — for app usage analytics and aggregated usage analysis
- Firebase Crashlytics — for crash reporting and stability diagnostics
- Firebase Remote Config — for remote feature configuration
Each of these services is operated by its respective provider and is governed by that provider's own privacy policy, which can be found on the provider's official website or within the relevant app store listing. We encourage you to review those policies. We are not responsible for the data practices of these third-party services.
4. Data Storage and Security
Health and personal data you enter into the App (weight, measurements, profile information) is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Diagnostic and analytics data collected by third-party tools is transmitted to and stored on those providers' servers in accordance with their own security practices. These providers (such as Google) may process and store data on servers located in the United States or other countries, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect the App and its functionality; however, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4.1 Data Retention and Deletion
We, the developer, do not operate a user database and do not retain your personal data on our own servers. Specifically:
- Health and profile data (weight entries, measurements, notes, profile name, avatar, biological sex, height): retained only in local storage on your device for as long as you keep it in the App. It is never uploaded to us. You can delete individual entries or entire profiles at any time inside the App, and uninstalling the App removes all of this data from your device. Any backup file you export yourself is retained only where you choose to store it, and is not accessible to us.
- Purchase validation data (app store receipt / transaction identifier): transmitted to our validation server and processed only to verify the purchase. It is not stored in a persistent user profile and is not used for any other purpose; server request logs containing this data are kept for a maximum of 90 days and are then automatically deleted.
- Analytics, crash and advertising data: retained by the respective providers (Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) on their servers, and retained and deleted by them in accordance with their own retention policies, which are described in the privacy documentation of each provider. We do not set or control these retention periods, and we keep no separate copy of this data. These records are pseudonymous and are not linked by us to your identity.
Because we do not maintain user accounts and do not hold your data on our servers, there is no account or stored personal record for us to delete, and no deletion request to us is necessary. Deletion is entirely in your hands: removing entries or profiles in the App, or uninstalling the App, permanently deletes the data from your device. Data held by the third-party providers listed above is retained and deleted by those providers under their own policies. If you have questions about retention, you can contact us using the details in Section 9.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete such information.
6. Future Features
We may in the future introduce additional features such as cloud backup and synchronization, photo-based tracking, or account creation. Any such features that involve the collection or transmission of additional personal data will be covered by an updated Privacy Policy, and where required, your explicit consent will be sought before data is collected.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Because the weight, measurement, and profile data you enter is stored locally on your device, you remain in direct control of it at all times. You can view, edit, or delete individual entries and profiles within the App, and you can remove all such data by deleting the relevant profiles or by uninstalling the App.
- Advertising: You can limit ad personalization through your device settings, the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, or the consent options presented in supported regions.
- Analytics and diagnostics: Data processed by Google's services is subject to Google's privacy controls; you may review and adjust your choices through Google's account and device-level settings.
- Access and deletion: Depending on your location (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain data, or to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. Since we do not maintain accounts and hold no personal records about you, you exercise these rights directly: your entries and profiles are deleted by you in the App or by uninstalling it, and data held by Google's services is managed through Google's own privacy controls and is retained and deleted under Google's own policies, as described in Section 4.1. You are welcome to contact us using the details below with any question about this.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. For significant changes, we may also provide in-app notification. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
