Het wereldkampioenschap rally (WRC) is het meest uitdagende motorsportkampioenschap ter wereld.
Dankzij het nieuwe dynamische weersysteem hebben klimaatsomstandigheden realistische effecten: regen en sneeuw zijn nu een belangrijk deel van het spel, en er moet rekening worden gehouden met variabele grip op de weg, verschillende opzetten voor ieder stadium, bandenkeuze en slim gebruik van het meteorologisch team.
De single player Career-modus is volledig herbouwd: kalandermanagement, O&O voor het verbeteren van prestaties, personeelswerving en management (technici, ingenieurs, medische teams en weerteams, finance manager, enz.).
Voor multiplayer maken de wekelijkse uitdagingen en WRC eSports hun terugkeer, maar de uitdagingen en tegenstanders zijn nu nog lastiger.
Met 50 teams, 14 rally's en meer dan 100 speciale etappes in het seizoen van 2019, heeft WRC 8 de grootste hoeveelheid content ooit gezien in een off-road racegame.
