Metaball League föddes ur en konflikt som uppstod bland alla civilisationer i det heliocentriska systemet när solenergin började ta slut. Efter mycket diskussion kom ledare för varje planet till slut överens om ett nytt tillvägagångssätt: en ny sport som bygger på jordens basket. Varje matchvinnare skulle tjäna Metanium för sin planet, en nyupptäckt malm som skulle kunna användas som ett substitut för solenergi. Denna innovativa lösning dämpade inte bara konflikten utan födde också en ny era av stark men respektfull konkurrens mellan civilisationerna.
Utrustade med högteknologiska hoverboards, handskar och ett Gravity Pack måste Metaball Riders bära bollen genom en annan fraktions båge, laget som gjorde flest poäng i slutet av matchen vinner!
